One of Killarney’s favourite attractions, Torc Waterfall also gives access to a number of great walks in the area.

Only a short distance from Muckross House on the N71 road to Kenmare, is Torc Waterfall. A 5-minute stroll from the car park, Torc is an impressive sight after heavy rainfall. Fed by the Owengarriff river which in turn flows from the Devil’s Punchbowl, high on Mangerton mountain, the waterfall is an excellent starting point for some great walks in the area.

Ascending the steps beside the viewing point brings you to the Upper Torc Car Park from where you can access the Old Kenmare Road, along with a number of woodland tracks winding around the area.

Torc Waterfall

Serena was delightful on the phone and more so in person. Sika Lodge is in a perfect location and our room was large with double shower, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. Welcomed with handmade rocky road pieces! Serena’s recommendations for a cocktail and place to eat were spot on. Breakfast was delicious and not too overpowering in size. Homemade cakes, jams and bread. Couldn’t fault this place.
